- Screen filter for gravity flow, and a disc filter for high pressure flow (from a water pump). Filtering keeps away debris from the system. Debris causes blockage or poor water flow. The filter is cleaned weekly

- Tomatoes are heavy consumers of water. Create an irrigation schedule that guides watering. In the hot season, irrigate in the morning for 20- 30 minutes daily depending on the stage of growth, and the prevailing temperature
- In the cooler season, irrigate after 2 or 3 days. Avoid night watering because it encourages root diseases as a result of cold soil
